A better definitive list for Resource Types #26

Open kaerumy opened 1 year ago

kaerumy commented 1 year ago

The current list of Resource Types https://github.com/Sinar/sinar.resource/blob/main/src/sinar/resource/vocabularies/resource_type.py is very general, missing some commonly used types and often not specific with the types of resources to be selected.

Research similar public knowledge knowledge resource categorization of large websites such World Bank, UNDP or EEA to have a better quality vocabulary that suits NGO needs.

IATI is very donor/funder centric. eg. "Organization Web Page" and "Country/Region Web Page" "Sector Web Page" doesn't make practical sense for generic set of Resources.

actually sinar resource type is most similar to sharepoint 365 content type(PDF link).

Sourced from the 365 Support section on "Default and custom Content Types" on understanding default content type hierarchy:

Default and custom content types By default, SharePoint includes many content types. Every piece of content in SharePoint is created from a content type. You can use the pre-defined content types, such as Blank Document or Announcement, without any change, or you can create custom content types.

To understand how the built-in content types relate to each other, see SharePoint in Microsoft 365 default content type hierarchy.
