Might be nice if a little explanation of how to go about this was added...

It's not planned right now. There are other priorities, such as releasing voice support.

I know that the docs are in a poor state. They do cover all class data as of 2.0.0, but they need to be updated and expanded for sure. I have plans to do this either shortly before or shortly after I release Discordia's voice features, which should be version 2.4.0. Additionally, the docs are a wiki, so anyone is able to edit them (and some people have) until I am able to make major changes.
