Problems loading saved SRAM and Snapshots #146

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Loading a saved game (in my case pokemon firered)
2.Attempt to load snapshot or SRAM

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected: Obviously I expected my game to load back to where I last saved
it.

Instead: This is what I see when I go to my save folder and click on a
file that i saved "invalid filename extension! not a rom?" then i
click "ok" and then is says "error loading rom" and then that's it

Does this issue occur on VBA-M r781
(http://vba-m.ngemu.com/vbam/vbacompiles/msvc2008/VisualBoyAdvance781.7z)?
If so, please report the issue to the VBA-M forum.
NO

What version are you using? On GameCube or Wii?
2.0.5 wii

Are you using the official build (from the downloads page or auto-update)?
yes

Please provide any additional information below.

Pretty much I'm using an SD card for my wii. I can play the game perfectly
fine (pokemon firered) and I can save fine. I save both ways, clicking the
start button "+" and then save (i'm not sure if you are supposed to do
this though) and I also save on the VBA a SRAM and a Snapshot.

I can however load the game if i'm in the middle of it but if I start from
fresh (turn off my wii) and want to access it again I can't.

When I go under my save folder and click on a file it gives me
this "invalid filename extension! not a rom?" then i click "ok" and then
is says "error loading rom" and I click "ok" again and then it just goes
back to the VBA screen again. (so pretty much nothing happened).

How can I load my saved games/ am I saving it incorrectly?

that's not how you load a saved game.

load the game itself first, then press home.

then press load and your saves will be listed there
