Text align issue (needs careful fiddling & testing) #21

Email thread as follows: NdT: the text is often aligned a bit strangely - sometimes its on the left >and there is no margin and then later it jumps to the right (see screenshot: textalign1 ). This is a not ideal readability, especially for kids. Would it be possible to set things up so that the margin space on the left is just for the kids/margin notes and then everything is aligned next to this? Marsh: Not sure what you are referring to (maybe we didnt get that screenshot, please clarify) NdT: This doesn't happen everywhere, unfortunately. Reattached TextAlign1,2,3 screenshots, with red lines to indicate how the left margin shifts in places. I'm not sure if there's a quick fix. I think the problem is that where there aren't margin kids, the text sits hard-left. But when there are kids, its obviously pushed to the right by them. One solution I guess would be to make consistent margin-kid-width padding on the left? If this is going to be a nightmare to fix though, or if it's going to break things badly, let's leave it. Marsh: This is to do with how the script is generating the html for the book, a sidebar element would have to be inserted for alignment - should we check with Ewald if possible? NdT: If this is a script issue then let's move it onto our to-do list. I.e. don't worry about this for now, if it's as simple as inserting another sidebar element all over the show? (I think this is something we'd need to test carefully anyway - who knows what sticking in an extra sidebar might break!)
