Basic cleanups #2

I've done a few basic cleanups and am thinking about some bigger changes.

What do you think about

encapsulating everying in a closure and having only a global asciisvg object
allowing an object as the first argument to any drawing function so functions can be called with what appears to be named parameters
passing the id or the object you want to be drawn upon to updatePicture instead of having it seek out an element with a magical ID.
