Based on our needs for a Drupal9 website, I've made an addition on this extension where, on a multilingual environment with multiple user languages, while creating the user creation, we pass also the preferred contact language in Drupal (9+ only for now).
It's not perfect, since the preferred language in CiviCRM comes as a locale (as it should be), while in Drupal, the user language is actually just a language string.
Nevertheless, it does the job that it was intended
