installer just not launching #13

When you double click the installer it does nothing. No error messages, no pop-ups.

I'm using a Linux Mint machine with OpenJDK 1.8.0 (Java 8) installed and even built it from souce, and on both occasions it just sat there and didn't do a thing.

I'm aware of the executable bit and I enabled executing it as a program and still nothing.

Now that I looked, there was a closed issue of the same problem but the author closed it without providing a solution.
