EPGP 'modules' (such as Boss, Loot, Whisper, Announce, Tooltip) disabling themselves upon wiping in a raid and releasing or leaving a raid instance #570

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Dying in a raid and releasing spirit
2. Leaving the raid instance

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the 'modules' that I choose to enable (in this case: Loot,
Whisper, Announce, and Tooltip) to remain enabled after wiping and
releasing in a raid. Instead, I'm forced to re-enable the separate
'modules' after reentering the raid instance every time.

What version of the product are you using? What locale is your client (en,
ru, kr, ch, es, tw)? What other addons do you have installed and what
versions? How many members do you have in your guild? (/guildinfo).
I am using version 5.5.14 of epgp (dkp reloaded) and the en locale.
I have thoroughly checked through each of my addons (as listed below) and
have been unable to find the culprit if it is indeed another addon causing
the issue:

Disable QuestGuru and you won't get this anymore. You CAN leave the QuestGuru
Tracker enabled if you wish. Thats my setup.

Disable QuestGuru helped

Any updates on this? I don't consider disabling QuestGuru a "fix" since it's not
really QuestGuru's issue. Still happen with 5.5.15.

It might be a QuestGuru issue, sometimes addon authors 'bend' the rules and bug
out
other addons.

Agreed, however - when this issue was originally reported - using the same
version of
QuestGuru, the issue disappeared if you went back to EPGP 5.5.4. So, 5.5.5 (or
perhaps 5.5.6) had the issue. Roll back to 5.5.4 and the problem went away.
Whatever
changed after 5.5.4 has just continued on.

/shrug, maybe it's easiest just to write a fix-addon that will force the epgp
options
back on when a zone change fires.

Just a bump.. QuestGuru is still causing this problem. I noticed this when I
started working on my Loremaster achievements and forgot to turn QuestGuru off
when raid started.

I believe this is fixed in epgp-6. Please reopen if it is still broken.

a temporary fix is to type "/epgp config", go into the announcements tab, and
turn off recurring start announce and recurring resume announce. For some
reason these two commands crash it.
