Shield on back disappears when mounted, but re-appears if draw and sheath it while still mounted

Hello, I have an issue where my shield visible on my back disappears when I mount my horse. If I draw my weapon and shield then put them away the shield will appear on my back as normal. Until I dismount and mount again and it will disappear again.
