Hello Csaba, I was wondering if there were any plans included here concerning a solver for brachytherapy treatment planning, for example using the mixed-integer programming.

Maybe it would be worth to apply to some grant to include this into SlicerRT, if there is interest from other users as well?
There are no plans currently to implement brachytherapy features. However, I think we would be happy to be subcontractors in a grant with such aims. Let me know if you have something specific in mind.
FYI there is this extension that could be cannibalized if we want to build such tools https://github.com/PerkLab/AblationPlanner (just pasting it here because it was not so easy to find)
Thanks for the reply! Do you think we could apply for some funding here? https://chanzuckerberg.com/rfa/essential-open-source-software-for-science/ Maybe in partnership with Greg etc

For proton inverse treatment planning, this recently appeared: http://opentps.org/ https://arxiv.org/pdf/2303.00365.pdf

This is discussed at the 20150128 weekly meeting. Greg thinks it is relatively easy to do the dose calculation and it is also simple to add a python GUI around it. should be good.
