What do you want added to LiteXpansion

Auto forge/refinery

What will the Item/Machine

Use Slimefun energy to automatically refine and forge materials for LiteXpansion

Have you thought about the recipe

UUU PAP = Empowered Machine Block TMT

A: Advanced machine block U: Ultimate solar panel M: MFSU T: Thorium P: Iridium plate

IPI PDP = Iridium infused Diamond block IPI

I: Iridium P:Iridium plate D: Diamond block

RUR MEM = Auto Metal Forge NUN

E: Empowered Machine block U: Iridium infused Diamond block M: MFSU N: Anvil R: Reinforced Alloy Plate

RUR SES = Auto Refined Smeltery BUB

E: Empowered Machine block U: Iridium infused Diamond block S: Nether Star Reactor R: Reinforced Alloy Plate B: Boosted Uranium

Will it enhance a current behaviour. If, yes what will it change

The concept I went for is that, Refined smeltery needed alot of heat to smelt things on its own, considering 1 fire makes 1 ingot, so it needed alot of radioactive heat to heat itself up, therefore it could run on either extremely costly energy, or radioactive materials, or even netherstars.

Auto metal forge I'm thinking just purely needs extreme amounts of energy, considering it needs "Pressure" and "Diamonds" to be infused in its recipes, after all you're forging them together, it still needs diamonds as "Fuel" while hammering the items together.

I made 2 new items to make things a little more expensive, considering these would be even more late game than the solar panels themselves, that way it's still grindy at first and even after, it's way too expensive to maintain, but still easier than doing it manually

That said, yes I do believe it will enhance it, as it will add a step after the UU matter which does not include alot of right clicking, while still remaining expensive to start up AND maintain, therefore it's not something you can rush and still have to go through the progression that you always had to go through for liteXpansion, but simply adding an extra step afterwards to make it easier for the direct future afterwards.

this would drastically alter Litexpansion and essentially remove what makes it unique, imo

Sefiraat commented 2 years ago

Also Jeff has previously said no to both of these forms of automation.

Sorry but will close. Do keep the suggestions coming though!

Sigh, the one time Jeff opens his heart to automation and I close the issue x)

I swear Jeff exists to irk me :)

LUL he told me his main reason for denying is due to not being provided a good recipe that would be more end game so we proposed some recipes for him that would hopefully be a nice challenge and balanced. I appreciate the quick responses anyway ❤️

the only reason this has a chance to be added is cuz its super hard, i want a machine that can automate these things, but it should be end game and even when its end game it should be hard to reach if this isnt it feel free to comment on it, i havent played with litexpansion ever on a server or even locally besides the sometimes testing.

I have played with LX a fair amount and while automation will drastically effect the gameplay, there is no telling if it's for the better or not.

What I can say is you should have (imo, of course) these items both powered and possibly crafted using UU Matter or extensions there-of. That way it's a linear progression from your current end game gameplay loop into the next. The beginning will be costly for the players and an incremental step backwards but allowing automation means a faster recovery time into producing more UU Matter for additional developments. It's similar to the approach I took with Crysta automation and something I took from 'prestige' mechanics within incremental games, two steps backwards to allow a future three steps forward.

Many servers do not do anything with UU Matter meaning that the result for the player is a slight let down, this would give purpose beyond that of the server's config and allow you to branch off into new crafting forms for any furture extensions you may have planned, if any.

Given the way UU Matter works, there may need to be a new, specifically designed for UU Matter, crafter for this purpose, to not clash with existing/new UU Matter config recipes.

Thanks for this comment Sefi i appreciate it.

I definitely want this to be made after people get into UU Matter therefor it uses iridium only way to obtain iridium is thru UU matter.

Not sure how i wanna do the power, since there are multiple addons that are actually ruining this for LiteXpansion i might have to do "item" powered generation in some way just like the nuclear generators but then for the machine it self. so it can be automated but it still has a manual expect to it.

UU Matter shouldnt have to many recipes imo tho, since its a form of matter that should just be set to some base materials like iridium. I wanna work of iridium to create other items.

yes we read it, and provided our comments afterwards.

My thought process behind this suggestion was as follows: Adding automation to LiteXpansion without changing the current progression path, hence why I made the empowered machine block which needs both ultimate panels (3 of em) and thorium AND Iridium, therefore you'd need to be super far into LX in the first place to start working on this. I also added the heavy costs to further increase the difficulty of its automation, frankly you could make it not exactly automatic, just capable of say making 9 stacks of iron into 9 stacks of refined iron at the cost of material x. Same for the forge, added to some hefty energy costs. The reason I think massive energy costs is a must is since LX is usually gotten into to get that energy, furthermore in the first place UU matter needs alot of energy, which is why you often see people creatively trying to store energy through MFSUs and then create UU matter in batches to craft ultimate solar panels to ease the previous process, now if someone rushes into automation in this way, they will suffer alot in terms of energy, and won't benefit from it at all, so they need to be already pretty far into LX to get to this point, or alternatively have millions of nuclear reactors working concurrently.

The main point of this suggestion isn't to "Automate" LX but moreso give it a "I finished LX now I can move on" feel, because currently all LX does is forever make iridium for you when you get alot of energy and have no motivation to manually smelt a barrel full of refined iron and furthermore craft all the materials for it, so I often find myself just getting back into LX randomly and hating it because my finger starts turning to a vegetable, when I already have 20 ultimate solar panels but just need that much more energy.

I genuinely don't believe this alters LX's current progression in whatever way, just adds an extra step in the very end of the progression that just makes everyone's life easier.

Sorry for my late late reply I did read this but never responded.

I think the build up to this machine should be more stretched out. I honestly want this to be near the end of slimefun and just be used as why the hell would i not automate it since everything is already automated. So it would practically be useless but still use full for that small portion of people who do like to grind to the bitter end.

How we should do that i have honestly no clue. I would like to see a semi automated machine in between this and fully manual. How would we achieve this no clue.

The suggestion is however approved, but not as in how it is right now I do want it to be automatable but as i said before it should be harder to get to. I do however like the new "added" items that you introduced in this suggestion
