For Idea 1 see https://rq.bitplan.com/index.php/Goals#Trigger_1_-_Call_for_Papers and #59
For the popularity according to https://rq.bitplan.com/index.php/Goals#Future_Events we will nevertheless have to put a focus on https://rq.bitplan.com/index.php/Goals#Past_Events otherweise we won't get the effect of https://rq.bitplan.com/index.php/Goals#Confidence and https://rq.bitplan.com/index.php/Goals#Coverage which to me are a prerequisite for popularity. I think a basis for popularity is also http://wiki.bitplan.com/index.php/Akzeptanz
Idea1. we trace emails in the mailing lists, every time (2-3 a day) we receive an email in the CFP mailing lists about an event or we get related events from WikiCfp, we send an email to the mailing list with the link to the event of wiki page of that event created by us over openresearch.org and we send an email to the organizers and ask them to include the link in their CFP emails or vent their web page. (Rebaz is working on this to automate parts of this task using RSS feed of mailing lists but we can not wait to have that, should start now)
Idea2. Collect list of event organizers from 2016 and send an email about openresearch.org Idea3.
Idea3. Ask people we know to use and populate OR
Idea4. actively tweet wiki link of events with tagging event twitter account
