Google Custom Search API version 1 example

Would it be possible to get an example of how to use the Google Custom Search 
API in Java. I am currently trying to build a little system around it for 
research purposes, and can not seem to figue out why I keep getting different 
HTTP header errors. A simple example of how to setup a custom search engine and 
carry out a single search would be remarkably helpful.
