What happened?

Hi @owner,

I hope this message finds you well. I am a participant in the GirlScript Summer of Code (GSSoC) event and I would like to contribute to this project. I have noticed that some dependencies in the project are outdated and there are a few security vulnerabilities that can be addressed. I would like to help by updating these dependencies and fixing the vulnerabilities.

Here’s a brief summary of the improvements I plan to make:

• Update outdated dependencies:** Bringing all dependencies up to their latest stable versions.
• Fix security vulnerabilities:** Running npm audit fix to automatically address security issues and manually resolving any remaining vulnerabilities.
• Clean up unused dependencies:** Removing any dependencies that are no longer required by the project.

These updates will help improve the security, performance, and maintainability of the project.

Could you please assign this issue to me so I can start working on it and submit a pull request for your review?
