Connecting / Disconnecting during a ride - Tracking of one ride is interrupted when briefly stopping (e.g. at traffic light)

It seems that everytime i stop at lights or at some point at a road bump recording of data restarts. This means that my ride is full of short (but continued in time) rides. This must be a bug the normal would be to have this as one ride.

Added to previous comment. Smart Halo is alo restarting during the ride ("bye bye", off, then again let's have a ride etc)

SmartHalo 1 also does this.

Insight / Clarification from SmartHalo - May 21, 2021: It’s something we’re looking into, as we’ve received this feedback a few times.

A conversation between group members that seems to provide more details that could help find the root cause:

Stavros Koul: It seems to be connected with several issues, one is the connectivity with network (of the phone) or the bluetooth (between SH2 and the phone). Could it be because other devices are using the bluetooth as well? In any case the network accuracy (as suggested by SH) is not the issue here. I hope they can identify the problem because with such suggestions I am afraid they have no idea! The reset at each stop seems to be easier to solve. It is matter of programming. "Wait before ending the ride details, accept 0 speed, no movements for some time"

Donald Jenkins: Stavros Koul The issue may be due to your phone, or possibly be software related rather than due to the new hardware.. I've been using a Smarthalo 1 for three years with an iPhone without ever having had that issue. It also works flawlessly with my Smarthalo 2. I'm planning to compare Smarthalo 1 and 2 and will be using an Android phone paired to my old Smarthalo 1, so I'll report back if that triggers any issues.

Stavros Koul: Donald Jenkins So you mean that in your phone there is not any problem with continued restarts of the SH? Only recalculation at trafic lights? If this is the case, this is interesting. Others have mentioned restarts. Could it be Android? Let's see

Stavros Koul: Donald Jenkins Identified an issue with Strava (probably). I am investigating who is the culprit. Yesterday evening I had a continuous ride with no issues of disconnection. But will investigate in the next few days

Donald Jenkins: Stavros Koul I've been linked to Strava since the beginning. No issues with it. Good to know your unit is working better!

Stavros Koul: Donald Jenkins Strava (which I've started been using a month ago or so) was also linked to fitbit and google fit. I suspect there is an issue there. I need to check if this is an issue. unlinked everything and SH2 seemed to be working fine. I will be testing the next days to be sure

Add to my previous comment. (Nokia 8, Android 9). If phone is restarted when being in proximity with SM2, it takes time to register, however when registers restarts/disconection are at minimum (from 10 to 1 or 2 for a 30mins ride). Also I think that at least at one point of a common route (to work and back from work) disconnection/restart happened at the same route point. I think it has to do with app registration and maybe network change on the phone.

An update on the restart of SH2 during ride. It is tiring and I hope SH team responds faster because it is tiring. Tho screenshots (it is 7 rides, therefore in two screenshots most of the rides are common. Ride is total 5.8km or so. Ride is 25mins more or less. This was recorded in 7 rides, SH2 was restarting, and there are spots that SH2 was not registering (you will notice time slots not registered). Nokia 8, android 9
