Cant join some unturned servers #2849

before i was playing on an unturned server and after they switched the hosting i could not join anymore i cant join some other servers to i contacted the owner he suggested my to contact hosting and i did hosting told me to try again it did not work i told them maybe the hosting blocked my IP they said that is not possible and i need a help because i really want to play on the server

What happens when you try to join that server? Do you get any error message on the main menu? If you can attach this file after it happens again there may be a clue:

  1. Right-click Unturned in your Steam Library
  2. Select Properties... > Local Files > Browse...
  3. Open the Logs folder
  4. Attach the Client.log file

i dont get any errors but when i search for server or i try to go in with IP it says server could not be found

Are you able to see servers in the server list? Can you join servers from the server list?

yes i can see servers but not all servers some servers my friend invite me i cant find and when i enter ip and port it wont work and i cant see the server that i was playing before

It sounds similar to the out-of-date Steam install reported by WCPistolPete recently. Are you on a beta version of Steam? Could you try these steps to check which Steam version you have please?

  1. Open Steam
  2. Click Help > About Steam on the top menu bar
  3. When is the Built date and what is the Package Versions? (or screenshot)

Thankfully that does seem to be the most recent version.

Do you have a firewall and/or anti-virus software? If so, can you check that Unturned's outbound connections are not restricted?

no even my cousin that lives in same city cant even join it is it something with my connection

If your cousin cannot connect to the server either then it might be a problem on the hosting side. The host might be able to help troubleshoot. One thing that might be worth trying is pinging the host in order to see if your traffic can even get through to them.

I joined elitelupus server for test with VPN and i cannot use the VPN anymore

To clarify, you were able to join that server when you used a VPN?

yes but i cannot use vpn due to an error rn and ye it worked when i used VPN and i could join

In that case I think the server might be using the "old" Steam networking. If you can send the ip:port I will double-check whether it is using the old networking. I should probably remove the option for hosts to use it. I took a look at that server "USemiRP" and it is using the new Steam networking, but is that the server you were trying to connect to before? Or is this the server you are able to play on?

before they change the hosting i was playing after they changed i am not able to play again

In the two comments above you linked the USemiRP server. Is USemiRP the server you were originally talking about? Because when you tried with the VPN you mentioned Elitelupus RP. Are you able to join USemiRP?

yes in middle of downloading mods for the USemiRP my vpn got error i joined both but without vpn i cant join any

If the connection fails while downloading then maybe preloading the workshop files would help. On the server lobby screen you can click the '+' next to each workshop file to subscribe to them. This will bypass the downloading mods stage of connecting.
