Unfortunately, a good match for syntax highlighting doesn't come to mind. Maybe we could try a .asset file sample that includes every feature and repeat it with each supported syntax/language to see how they look?
While reading a player's forum post, I realized our example could be clearer. It reiterates some info from Asset Definitions or Asset Pointers, but should be helpful irregardless. Although we could instead have an example with only a single (preferred) syntax, like inline.
