I have this issue to, it was on first launch and it said this:
"ERROR Launching the game failed!
Failed to download file, the file contents differ from what was expected. Name: jna-4.4.0.jar URL: https://libraries.minecraft.net/net/java/dev/jna/jna/4.4.0/jna-4.4.0.jar Filename on disk: jna-4.4.0.jar Path: C:\Users\MyName\Twitch\Minecraft\Install\libraries\net\java\dev\jna\jna\4.4.0\jna-4.4.0.jar Exists: File"
It's the first mod i got through this computer. I tried other mods, but got the same result. I think it might be through the Twitch app.
So I've never modded Minecraft and had the same issue. Looks like it's an issue with the Twitch launcher as previously proposed (something about it downloading the wrong libraries for the mod pack). After a bit of digging I found out how to manually launch a mod pack. Here's some step by step instructions right quick.
Just remember to launch from that exe instead of through the Twitch launcher. It should work 100% of the time now.
Thank you very much! I was able to run this mod and I would never have gotten there without your help!
I got to step 3, at which point the command prompt flashed on the screen and nothing happened. I tried to fix it, but everything I tried failed. Do you have any suggestions? I have Java V1.8.0 231 released on Oct 15 2019. Thank you for taking the time to write, research, and help with this.
Try running it as an administrator. The jar file should pop up with a separate window and offer you an option on where to install it (in the default location usually). It will be writing to your %appdata% folder in that case, which requires admin privileges. If that's not it, I'm unable to offer additional assistance, but hopefully that's all you need to do.
I only took many, many hours of trial and error but I finally got everything to work. Thank You for your help!
When I try to launch, it says that the file contents differ from what was expected. I am playing on windows 10. I have no experience with java mods, so it's probably something really simple. I appreciate any input!
