the devices get discovered properly but fails to transfer any files.

For me, this appears to be partially true. It works from my android phones to laptops but Not from my tablet to anywhere.

My tablet is a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, running android v 11 kernel 4.19.127-22351182

I'm running blokada 5 ad blocker, but snapdrop is bypassed in the settings. Plus, I turned it off first.

The tablet does have Samsung Knox running, though I can't, for the life of me, find any config for it.

also I'm using the android app and the edge browser for the same.

Sometimes it helps to simply refresh the site in the browser and the android app. Don't know why it's sometimes that unreliable...?

TheCreamGravy commented 2 years ago

I've been having a similar issue between my PC (Firefox) and my iPad. Between my browser and my phone seems fine, but the one thing I need it for doesn't work.

Sometimes refreshing it a bunch of times forces it through, but it barely seems to work these days. Even with other iPads I use..

tried refreshing, reinstalling, everything, works completely fine with android and chrome but there appears to be an issue with edge. also no extensions were enabled.

Same issue for me with Firefox on PC and Firefox on Android. Refreshing both fixes the issue.

Same here. It hasn't worked for me for weeks now.

This app rely on a stun server, which is stun.l.google.com:19302, if your network environment is too complicated, it may not work properly. Try to use a mobile phone hotpot to determine if it's your network problem.

What do you mean by "too complicated"?

CantPickGoodUsernames commented 2 years ago

Quick update: So the problem was that I had multiprocessing disabled on Firefox. So now I downloaded Brave to use Snapdrop.

Neither Chrome nor Edge works for me. Any solutions?

yjmp14 commented 2 years ago

If snapdrop.net doesn't work well for you, you can try my website, wulingate.com .

My website uses a turn server instead of a stun server, it improves transfer success rate in complex network environment, such as public wifi, company internal network, etc.

And it has internet transfer capacity, this means your devices don't need in a same LAN, just join a same room in the website is ok.

I'm getting a similar issue since a few days (after not needing the service for weeks). From my iPhone to my Linux laptop (Waterfox) I can send messages but not from my iPhone to my ChromeTab, nor can I send files to/from my phone. Detection works fine though.

Doesn't anyone have bundled this in a NodeJS/Electron app so we can run the server on our own desktop systems?

FWIW, I'm on a trip so maybe it'd still work at home. I indeed cannot connect to stun.l.google.com:19302 but is that even required for transfers?
