Joining the Coven #9

Joining the Apostate's Coven requires effort beyond the usual for a Mana and Artifice mage. While most mages can simply cast a ritual to join or tier up within their faction, Coven members must instead perform a complicated series of events:

  1. They must create a Poppet for a Witch
  2. They must discover a series of PotionEffect spells (randomized?) that must be cast on the Witch in order.
  3. Each time they cast a PotionEffect on the poppetted witch, they gain progress towards joining the coven.
  4. Once they have successfully cast 3 appropriation spells, the witch appears before them and inducts them into the coven, or allows them to level up.

The PotionEffects should be randomly selected from those available to the player at their current tier or lower. Learning these effects may require Scrying or some other feature which has not yet been determined. See #10 for further ideas.

If the poppetted witch dies, you'll need a new witch (obviously), but your progress doesn't reset.
