htc evo windows 7 64 bit, and mine is working but it wasn't at first when I had
a second cmd window open and in focus. If I minimized that other cmd window
then it started working. The keyboard is hard to use sometimes because it
starts to keep putting double of everything (lliikkee tthhiiss) and even the
backspace does double so you can't fix it. But I'm so glad this app exists,
exactly what I was looking for.

I think it'd be nice to be able to show IPAddress of the device to make sure
its on the right network. It could be that some phones are configured to
prefer the 3G network even with wifi connected which would explain this
problem. Ill look into monitoring device networks so this can be resolved.

Double click the .bat file & the cmd window pops ups and closes just as fast.
Looking into the .bat file it calles out to a .jar file that is not in the zip
file.

@ahowell82: A bat file on windows does not and can not natively access files
inside a zip file, its an operating system limitation, you must unzip any zip
file that has a program within it as Windows does not have native zip
executable support built into its file system (nor does any other OS to my
knowledge). Also even after unziping it might be neccesary to 'unblock' any
executables due to Vista and Windows 7's increased security. Simply unzip the
zip file into a folder, this is a cross platform program so it doesnt use an
installer.
If it still doesnt work let me know, I can probably build an installer
prototype quickly that can apply the proper permissions and ensure existence of
Java runtime.

As I have replied somewhere else here: Make sure you disable your firewalls or
somehow open up for RemoteDroid manually through your firewall application.

i am definitely not a professional when it comes to this program but had the
same issues in the beginning that you all had. the connection thing there are
several things to try to get it to connect...the first one would be to have the
remotedroid app run as administrator in its settings in windows 7 of course.
that would be the easiest method first to try. the second would be to open
command prompt with admin privileges and close remote droid and then run the
command to renew ip that could possibly help. the only other thing i could
think of that would be causing connection issues would be a antivirus program
or firewall blocking the connection. check those programs to make sure they are
set to allow remotedroid permission.
as far as the zip file goes when you download it...there are a couple of files
in there i tried the bat file first command prompt appeared and disappeared so
i doubleclicked the jar file and the program popped up. so temporarily i moved
that file to my desktop when i needed to use it. later on i put it in the
startup folder so it would always be on. now i need to figure out how to make
it start minimized or even just be in my notification bar hidden from view.
maybe one day though lol i love this program even though it has bugs and has
not been perfected yet but what program has been perfected :/ solitaire or
tetris maybe lol
