New version of paramiko (bundled with Ubuntu 17.04 or Debian stable) is no longer compatible with fabric.

Short term: oOn local installs, this change is required: ** https://github.com/paramiko/paramiko/pull/714/files
Long term: rewrite fabric so it works

New fabric is completely different. There's a Fabric fork with support for python3 that works, though. Using that one.
