2 months ago Thank you for playing the Einstein puzzle. Initially, we hadn't planned on a wide distribution, but now we're thrilled to see so many people enjoying it and joining us in the game. Many people have requested clearer distinctions between the 'Select' and 'Exclude' panels. We are considering ways to enhance this feature. I can't promise an immediate update, but we will do our best to include all requested features in the next release.
The Statistics page says I have played your game more than 5,700 times. I don't know how many of those I have lost because I didn't realize I was in Select mode when attempting to Exclude something, or vice versa.
When I select a square in the game and get the pop-up providing the opportunity to either select or exclude a symbol, I believe I would be less likely to make this mistake if there were some visual distinction between the two modes on that pop-up. For example, if the pop-up background (or perhaps border frame) were color coded, I think it would be an improvement. Perhaps if the pop-up were some shade of red for selection and some shade of blue for exclusion? (Personally I would prefer red and green, but red-green colorblindness affects up to 5% of all people of European descent to at least some extent.)
If you ever decide to release a new version, I would be greatly appreciative of including this at least as a configurable option.
Thank you for a wonderful game that, by my calculations, I've spent about a complete month of my life (24/7) playing over the years!
