Do we need an authentification of the user, whio wants to treat a new dataset?

get easier (and validated) access to user credentials - name, institute, etc.
possible through oauth, shibboleth, orcid, ...?

Yes - any user who would like to use the SoilPulse should have an account and be logged-in. I see no other way to allow the users to get back to their previous "dataset metadata mappings records" in SoilPulse e.g. to change/repair/improve the mappings. But the user-management will be another big piece of work, so if possible I suggest we find some easy work-around for now but keeping the idea in mind while structuring the code.
