Just to be sure: you mean in the item sheets, right?
Honestly, I've been mulling over this for a while - heck, I've pondered putting rich text editors EVERYWHERE one can find more than a single line of text. The one thing that's stopping me is that all of this rich text would look really awkward once displayed inside a character sheet. There's very little space available and, also, rich text in Foundry is saved as HTM, so even less text would be shown on the sheet.
I'll think some more about this and may just go for a proof of concept - I'll let you know.
Yes, that's what I meant, sorry for being unclear.
In the meantime, the group has decided to continue on with the simple worldbuilding system to player cypher, so no hurry - as if there were any.
Thanks for your work!
Just FYI, this will be released in version 0.16.0 (ie. really soon).
Thanks, good to know!
How's 0.16.0 coming? If the Effect field was rich text for a Cypher item, then would it be possible to put a link to a rollTable there?
@morgurth Sorry for the late response, life happened and I've been very much AFK for the last few weeks.
I need to get back into things but IIRC 0.16 was very very close to being released. Adding a rolltable would be a great idea but would deserve its own feature request, which I'll create in a moment.
@doct All Item sheets now have rich text fields wherever it was possible to do so. Tell me if this works for you!
Added to 0.16.0
Numenera System version 0.12.0
Current Situation: The "Description" attribute field of items is plain text.
Request: Make the "Description" attribute field a richly editable text field.
Rationale: I am pondering converting an existing Cypher-based game using the Simple Worldbuilding system to your (wonderful, thank you!) Numenera system. I have created journal entries for many cypher rules, including character abilities, character types, etc. While I can easily copy over the journal from world to world, i will need to create the items (aka abilities, armor, skill, equipment) anew, which is kind of fine. I would like to retain the Journal-style of having everything at fingertips - incl. the option to "show it to the players". But I would be very hesitant to copy over all the journal text into the newly created items, (again) thereby loosing all formatting and unnecessarily duplicating the information. I'd rather like to just drag&drop the journal entry into the description, i.e. creating a link to the journal entry. That is apparently not possible with plain text, but requires the rich text field.
Also, the descriptive text will look much nicer. :-)
Thanks a lot and happy coding (and playing!).
