Strange obsidian spike stacking behavior on server after resummoning Ender dragon

So, people have been flocking to the End ever since I reset the dimension on my server, so naturally, they've been resummoning the Ender dragon. Apparently, the obsidian spikes have been stacking each time they do this and have stacked so high that the end crystals & bedrock somehow spawn above world height.

I'm not sure if there's a config option combination I did to achieve this or if this is an actual bug. I should maybe mention I did have the latest version of BetterEnd (Forge) before and recently switched to BetterEnd Reforked, hence why I decided to completely wipe the dimension to give everything a fresh coat of paint.
