New World with BOP and BYG, no vanilla biomes spawn(Solution Does not Work) Update-Problem only in Single Player Mode #54

So apparently no vanilla biomes like warped forest spawn, the crimson forest is extremely difficult to find. I have nether BOP set to false....this I believe was an issue for some time, I have not tested if BYG or BOP have anything to do with it, but I do know that vanilla biomes should not be this rare, I believe the main issue is with betternether reforged, and its replacing warped forest with another biome: https://i.imgur.com/rYVQler.png Please refer to these other issues: https://github.com/Someone-Else-Was-Taken/BetterNether-Reforged/issues/53

So, and sorry if the question is upseting, I dont fully understand and I dont speak English, you´re going to repair it, you cant, or what?

lSherozl commented 2 years ago

Im not the mod author, we are trying to fix the issue, I believe its an issue with the NBT tag, ill let you know if we find a solution before the mod author fixes it

Ok, Thanks!

I have a temporary solution, if whatever u guys said is right and it is only broken after relogging, CREATE a world with the same seed, locate the biomes u want, and write down their location that way you can still find those biomes even if /locate is broken

0TheCho0 commented 2 years ago

The biomes disapears not only dont show...

And if I dont remeber bad, one time I die in a Basalt delta, and when I go for my body... No Basalt was in there.

lSherozl commented 2 years ago

No the biomes are still there.....This is the solution, get your world seed, and create a new world with the same seed.....In the new world go to the nether, you should be able to locate the biomes with something like a nature compass, or the /locate command....Mark down the biome locations, and in your old world, even tho the /locate command does not work....you will still be able to know where the biomes are located because the nether will generate the exact same...As you can see I found them on the new world with same seed. The issue is that after u log off once, you cant use /locate again for those vanilla biomes....Here is proof the temporary solution works: https://i.imgur.com/b6JEug5.png

New discover, when you generate the chunk and it have a Basic Nether Biome it stills when you relog, BUT any Basic Nether Biome couldn´t spawn in new chunks, which makes the temporary solution, not a solution because having limited biomes isn´t viable for spawning structures and other things...

CloudMeow commented 2 years ago

actually,I play with only BetterNether mod. When I reenter the world, many biome lost. Then, only a few specific biome are generated.

lSherozl commented 2 years ago

Interesting ill test this out later, and confirm if the biomes disappear

lSherozl commented 2 years ago

WELL turns out AFTER A RELOG THE BIOMES DONT EVEN SHOW IN NEW CHUNKS, don't know why the author of the mod has not fixed this, its clearly an old issue

Hello  Indeed there is an issue with Better Nether generation. When you load the Nether for the first you'll find every biome from the mod without any problem. The issue occurs when you reload your nether : A certain amount of biomes (such as the Nether jungle for example) won't generate. You won't find them with the /locatebiome command. If you happen to leave your world in a Nether Jungle (from when you loaded the dimension on your first visit) the /locatebiome won't recognize the biome you're in, and it won't call the right name if you press F3 to check the biome you're in.

It will also prevent vanilla minecraft biomes from generating, which is very problematic.

These have been tested on a clean save where there were only 2 mods (Optifine and BetterNether) to make sure it wasn't a ByG or BOP glitch. I can confirm that the issue comes from Better Nether.

I may have found some sort of solution for BYG case, though it's just theoretical, you would need to test it out if it works correctly: https://github.com/Someone-Else-Was-Taken/BetterNether-Reforged/issues/62#issuecomment-1074984462
