question - why not use the 3Dclippy method with a RC car servo to cut the filament instead of relying on a part that needs to be removed? #2

I own a 3D Chameleon MK4 but haven't gotten around to installing it on my K1 since it looks like the announcement will come soon for the CFS upgrade kit for it. I'm in limbo until then as I may just install it on my Ender 3 V2 Neo that I upgraded with the Sprite Neo SE extruder kit. I already run it with a sonic pad and klipper.

this printables item has stl model files for the 3d clippy extruder mount for reference.

I like how simple in comparison your project is compared to the 3D Chameleon so wanted to ask if you had looked into possibly using their method for cutting the filament.

Another project I looked at was the 3ms which uses a similar approach to your project.

I have not looked at their method, from the looks of the model it sits above the extruder. With it being above that leaves a lot of filament to purge inside the hot end. The route I went doesn't leave much filament inside the hot end and has the runout sensor below the extruder to make sure filament swaps are successful.

The other project you linked looks very similar. As for the cfs I feel this may be a more cost effective solution as long as you put the minor amount of work in to modifying my config files to suite your needs.
