Tahoma Beecon Support #117

Wondering if developer mode will be supported on the Tahoma Beecon. Here in Thailand Somfy "smart" offering is the Tahoma Beecon and the Tahoma app even has a feature to use it in local mode (without the need for internet connectivity), so it seems the hardware has support for it.

Please consider adding support for developer mode on Tahoma Beecon. The cloud api keeps timing out...

The TaHoma Beecon for Asia seems to be the same as in the USA., where it uses the Somfy Synergy API. There is a web page to contact Somfy about that (https://www.connectswithsomfy.com/), but their answer is that they are not sharing the API. There are official integrations for Crestron, Alarm.com, SmartThings, IFTTT, Brilliant, URC, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Control4, ELAN, RTI, Philips Hue, Josh.ai, and Savant. Don't know how they got their documentation. Maybe Somfy wrote the integrations.

That's a shame, because the TaHoma Beecon is much more expensive than the TaHoma Switch, has less functionality (no IO protocol, for example) and is also not open. It is costing them customers, who can buy a Bond Bridge, which is cheaper and has a local API.

There are unofficial implementations for Synergy as well, sometimes called MyLink (older product). I think it is a TCP connection at port 44100. But the integrations usually only have a few commands, while screenshots indicate that the API is much bigger than that. You would think Somfy should not be happy about half integrations. I would really like to get my hands on the official documentation to support it. Let me know if you get any further. Maybe Somfy Asia Pacific is more helpful?

Hi @deepbluesnow

Let me flag it as a new feature request for the TaHoma Beecon.

We will keep you posted about it.

@llavorel-somfy There also seems to be an issue with the TaHoma Switch NA version, which - if I'm not mistaking - is quite a new product for the US market. A user of an integration of mine is using it. He got the API key via ha401-1.overkiz.com (North America) like you recently added to the documentation. But then there is nothing at port 8443. A port scan seems to show only sport 443 to be in use. Is the NA version not ready for use with the Developer Mode API yet? Or does it need additional actions to get it started?

BernoldNL commented 3 months ago

@llavorel-somfy Can you please confirm if the NA version of the TaHoma Switch does currently not support Developer Mode? And if so, will it be added in a future version?? Your help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Nevermind. Apparently it's possible that Developer Mode does not turn on properly and support can reset that remotely, after which Developer Mode can be turned on again.

llavorel-somfy commented 3 months ago

Hi @BernoldNL The Developer Mode is available for all TaHoma switch, whatever the region. Port should be 8443 for all of them. Has your user tried to reboot the gateway ?

BernoldNL commented 3 months ago

@llavorel-somfy Thank you for your response. It seems my message edit was not clear enough. The problem is solved. Apparently the activation of Developer Mode had failed. On the portal it seemed activated, but in reality it wasn't. After somfy support "reset" the gateway the user could reactivate Developer Mode, which now opened port 8443. So, the same issue/solution as https://github.com/Somfy-Developer/Somfy-TaHoma-Developer-Mode/issues/130#issuecomment-2111621847

Maybe it's an idea to add deactivation of Developer Mode to the portal, so users can do this without contacting Support?

llavorel-somfy commented 3 months ago

Hi @BernoldNL thank you for the feedback

@llavorel-somfy Since this issue is closed, does that mean developer mode is now available for Tahoma Beecon (I assume so)? I am logged in my account but I can't find any place to activate a developer mode.

I am logged in my account but I can't find any place to activate a developer mode.

Likewise, I also do not see any developer options for my Beecon. Thoughts?

llavorel-somfy commented 2 months ago

Oops, I was closing regarding BernolNL question. My apologies.

For TaHoma Beecon, you need to wait for the end of the year.
