Keep -lw slightly HIGHER than the reciprocal of ad.
Fx -ad 4096. 1/4096 = 0.00024 -lw 0.0003
-ffc for color output in rgbe
-V or -V+ for total or contributions!! Important.

Also rtcontrib always has -aa 0.
Also use ra_rgbe to compress HDR from rtcontrib (like rpict)
