Subsonic has a nice feature where it displays a random selection of albums from the music collection. I like this because it reminds me of music I haven't listened to in a while.
https://github.com/Sonerezh/sonerezh/pull/298 is my attempt at implementing this. It works for me :) but I'm not an expert in PHP. I hope you'll accept it or use it as the basis for a better implementation.
