Value proposition

As a user, I want to access a dedicated dashboard page with a visual representation of my transaction data, so that I can easily track and analyze my expenses across different categories.

Description

Acceptance criteria

• [ ] create a new page for a visible donut chart of all transactions
• [ ] the user can click on a Link to a new page in the nav bar
• [ ] on the new page "Dashborad" the user can see a Donut Chart
• [ ] the Chart has a different color for every cathegory, so the user can see if for examples the expenses for rent are higher ore smaler in comparison to other cathegories
• [ ] the user can see the amount he/she spends on each categorie

Tasks

• [ ] Create a new page for the dashboard
• [ ] Implement a link to the dashboard in the nav bar.
• [ ] Design a user interface for the dashboard that accommodates the donut chart and other relevant information
• [ ] Implement logic to retrieve transaction data from the database
• [ ] Organize the data to be suitable for presentation in the donut chart
• [ ] Configure the chart to display different colors for each category
• [ ] Ensure the chart accurately represents the amount spent on each category
• [ ] Ensure that the chart updates dynamically when new transactions are added or existing ones are modified
• [ ] Add tooltips or labels to the chart to provide additional context for each category

I think the chart is a great idea to visualize the expenses in different areas!

just two things:

• in the acceptance criterias you write "pie chart" in the first line and later on "donut chart". Maybe you could be consistent here and just use "donut chart".
• maybe you could add the percentage of every category spend in relation to the total expenses?

thank you for the comment. At first we are going to implement the donut chart and if we have still time we can think about a percentage logic of every category cause we would like to add a progress bar also to our saving goals :)
