Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Fresh installation of Mac OSX 10.5, no settings tweaked
2. Install MacFuse Core
3. Notice the following error message: The following install step failed:
run postflight script for MacFUSE Core. Contact the software manufacturer
for assistance

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

MacFuse Core 1.7 (fresh download);
Mac OS X 10.5.4
2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo;
2 GB RAM

Can you make sure it's not the following?

I have the same issue...

MacFuse Core 1.7 (fresh download);
Mac OS X 10.5.4
2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo;
4 GB RAM

Tryed.:
1.] mv: rename lib 1 to lib: No such file or directory
2.] drwxr-xr-x  10 root  wheel  340 19 Sep 11:13 /usr/local
3.] followed the steps, the installer recreated the /usr/local/lib but it still
came up with an error; the installer
did not create /tmp/.macfuse-install.log just /tmp/MacFUSE.pkg.6916MrkYHB &
MacFUSE.pkg.7008RtRFRB & MacFUSE.pkg.7095QBKIkI & so on per each attempt to
install..

So what should I do???

I just checked the install log. Perhaps this will shed some light? It looks
like
it's a different problem than the three threads you've posted above.

Well, can't reproduce this issue.

It's "fixed" though (in the source tree; will be in the next release) in the
sense that MacFUSE autoinstaller is no
longer using tar for this purpose.

I am experiencing the same issue. In which release will it be fixed and when
will it
be released?
Thanks for your help!

Hello all,

I was having the same issue when trying to install macFuse. Found that
/usr/local/lib
had a circular link. When I removed this, the install worked fine.
