(Before I tell u, Thx to make such a great tools for all the other Ccountries.) (Also I Think this is SUPER dumb n noob Questions but really need mentor's help.)

I'm noob in FFXIV GS with mac and wanna add Kor ANXI for chat with others. (Runs with Xiv on Mac) Searching google and github, finally I found your FontChangerForDalamud but don't know how to add in Dalamud works on my mac. as all the other guys and guide mentioned about, I copied .json file's repositories and paste it in custom plugin address but nothing happend with failure. Is this tools only runs with Windows? or should I do something to do for it?

For use with Dalamud, you will have to use Penumbra, and import the TTMP2 files generated from the application.

JSON files are not custom plugin repository files. They define how the fonts will be combined to generate font modpack files.

Prerequisite: install Language Specific OTFs Korean (한국어). from source-han-sans/releases. Show all 22 assets needs to be clicked first.

  1. Run the application.
  2. File > Open, choose Presets > Extra Scripts - Source Han Sans K.json, or any other font of your choice.
  3. Export > Export to .ttmp TexTools ModPack file (compress while packing).
  4. Import the generated file to Penumbra, and activate the mod.
  5. Log out and log into the game.

Thank you for your informations. It helps me a lot. WIP around 45 mins and so on. Btw, Would you mind answering another question for me? Is there any differenc of .tex and .fdt files which can export in FontChanger program between .ttmp2? I already have Krn tex and fdt files that someone made around 7 years ago but didn't work in mac.

Soreepeong commented 3 weeks ago

Those files need to be imported into common/font in-game directory for them to take any effect.

Moongseol commented 3 weeks ago

And that doesn't fit in ffxiv mac ver right? so confused to import that kr.

Soreepeong commented 3 weeks ago

As long as you can use Dalamud, it should not matter if you're playing on Mac or Windows. If that isn't working for some reason, try: https://www.xivmac.com/

Moongseol commented 3 weeks ago

I already use that for running my ffxiv in mac. Didn't think that exist before. :0 Anyway, though your kindness, Is there any other options to add kr without Dalamud in mac like the windows ver? if don't, Dalamud is proper way to deal with.

Soreepeong commented 3 weeks ago

You can use TexTools to mod game files, but this is not recommend as it is too easy to mess up the game installation afterwards. XivAlexander also supports game modding, so that is an option. I would still recommend Dalamud+Penumbra for anything modding.

More then 3 hours to do with, finally working in my mac! Honestly, there's a little issue in it. The letter that I write in kr, first letter disappeard and the other letter came out like windows letter typing in any blank wallpaper. (small typo things on top of left) For example, when I write 안녕하세요, 안 came first and that 안 disappear when I write 녕. So I should type all the spells with my right arrow key to write correctly. Is there anything to do more?

I don't have a mac so I can't test, but this is a problem outside of using this program; same thing should happen even without any font mods applied (you'll just see ==s though). For now the best thing you can do probably is to do what you said.

Moongseol commented 3 weeks ago

After so many test, Think that part is the one of the text problem with ffxiv mac ver. Without apply the text, It shows that = things but only one = thing shows up and nothing happend. Maybe the difference of the text algorithm between windows n mac makes this happen. Anyway, you saved my life bro, With so many help. Hope to c ya in da FF.
