Anyone gotten the new version to work with Gshade yet? #560

Gshade and Alexander both work seperately now, but if I install both of them then Gshade breaks and doesn't list any of it's shaders. Is anyone else having the same issue? Any fixes yet?

Uninstall Alexander and delete all of the residues files from it on the local appdata folder (you can find it here or googling, I'm on mobile don't remember by hard). Install gshade, install Alexander and run the game. That fixed for me.

Works for me as well, installing in that order.

If you can get the GShade window top open, but no shaders are listed, then GShade is installed correctly but just can't see the shaders folder. Go into its settings menu and manually add the folder with all your shaders to the shaders folders list. You might need to play around a bit to get it to load the shaders again but it will work. It's possible Alex is confusing GShade somehow, or maybe a recent GShade update did that, I'm not sure.

There is a specific way to install gshade that fixed this for me. Here are the instructions from the ghsade site: Open the GShade Control Panel. Navigate to the Installations tab. Click Add New. Install GShade to Final Fantasy XIV again using Normal as the Hooking method on the options step. Install XivAlexander again using the Install XivAlexander as dinput8.dll for DirectX 11 version option.

This fixed this issue for me. Apparently this has been recommended from the start but I had never followed these instructions before. Probably just something they did during one of their/or alexander updates. Only question I have is, does this downgrade the dx version at all/sacrifice the quality of textures in game?

I can get them both to run at the same time, but it's still not working for me. Gshade will work fine without Alexander, but once I add Alexander it resets all my keybinds/settings in Gshade and all the LUT shaders start having errors about missing files.

Wait, is already working?

Yeah that happens to me too. For the LUTs you probably have to point GShade to the proper texture folder (would be my guess). gshade-shaders/Textures most likely
