Sorry, I missed the notification. But really, disabling antivirus and running the program as Administrator should be working. What Antivirus software are you using?

I'm using avira antivirus. I already added the file and folder to exception and I'm running as admin...

I dont know if it is somehow related, but i do get this error some times when i open the program in the login screen. Logging in with my character and only then executing works fine.

Well, all I can say is try uninstalling your antivirus software and try again. That error occurs when something installed on your system isn't liking this program.

Uninstalled Avira... turned off windows defender.... still I get the error.... sad :(

Try running Command Prompt or Powershell as Administator (Windows+X, and click on either (Admin)), and running XivAlexanderLoader.exe in it.

As a last resort, try disabling User Account Control. Make sure to enable it back as soon as possible, after checking whether it works.

1. Open Start menu (Windows key).
2. Just type UAC, and click on the first item (Change User Account Control settings)
3. Drag the slider to bottom (Never notify)
4. OK and restart.

When enabling back, drag the slider to whatever it was before.

I tried all of this but I still get the error. I always tried to run it in Admin! I even uninstall the antivirus and disable windows defender still same error. Disabled also the UAC but still same error. Tried running it via power shell admin still same error. I feel depressed now. :(

Can you get a list of all running programs on your PC? You can use FINAL FANTASY XIV System Information which should have been installed with the game, and then copy the output.

NOTE: it will contain the title of running windows, so make sure to filter out personal information (e-mail, username, etc.)

Someone or something must have fiddled with your computer's configuration, but I'm not sure what would have done that. This might have something to do with it though...

Try the following:

1. Download psexec.
2. Extract psexec.exe to C:\Windows\.
3. Open a Command Prompt as Administrator (Windows+R, cmd, Ctrl+Shift+Enter),
4. Type psexec -isd cmd and press enter.
5. Type whoami in the newly created window, and confirm that it shows nt authority\system.
6. Run XivAlexanderLoader in the newly created window. You will have to type the full path, and enclose it in quotes (") if path contains spaces.

psexec failing means that something isn't right on your computer, and the best solution would probably be reinstalling windows, and see installing which software will hinder xivalex from working. There are so many programs installed on your computer that has a possibility of messing up with your system...

Yes, that's just a better error message so that I know where exactly things went wrong, but in your case, it's the same deal. I do think you need to "repair" your installation of Windows...

I got it running without reinstalling Windows. I updated my Node.js application and XivAlexander worked!

Doing https://github.com/Soreepeong/XivAlexander/issues/60#issuecomment-854831658 i managed to run xiva, as i was getting the same error as https://github.com/Soreepeong/XivAlexander/issues/60#issuecomment-859978232. This means i have to open psexec every time i want to launch the program?

@Soreepeong I forgot if its from version 13 or 14, but now, I'm currently 16.3. That's all I did and voila it worked! BTW, I didn't reinstall windows.
