Swype not working over wifi (bluetooth unknown) #47

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. install client
2. install server
3. install swype and enable
4. attempt to use the swype keyboard while remotely connected via wifi

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
i expect to see the word i swype'd in the text box on the screen. instead
nothing happens, a blue border around the keyboard flashes once. Backspace
doesn't work. I can use the keyboard as a letter by letter input...just not
swype.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
5-23-2010 version of pRemoteDroid. v1.56.30.7625.t100 Swype Beta. on Android
2.2 using a HTC Droid Eris

Please provide any additional information below.
i have placed this issue on the Swype Beta forums as well.

ok, it's a bug, but i don't know how to solve it (and i have no time to solve
it)

capture "key press" on the phone is really tricky
it's easy to use a normal text field, but "capture" is really different

I also would like to have this ability. I will contact my friends at Swype and
see if they can help.

In the mean time how hard would it be to provide an easy way to switch
keyboards to the built in keyboard and then back to Swype when I leave
PRemoteDroid? That would also be helpful for now. I would want it to be
automatic so that I don't have to pick Swype and pick the other keyboard each
time I come and go to PRemoteDroid.

You can still use the keyboard itself, just not the actual 'swype'
feature(running your figures across each letter)

too bad to hear this isn't easy to do. my goal is to make a one handed key
input device because i have pretty severe rsi on my right hand. a swype
keyboard is exactly what i'm looking for
