This seems to be regardless of size. The progress indicator shows 100% for several seconds before displaying the initial graph (laid out in whatever default layout algorithm)
Experienced under Chrome, not tested elsewhere.
Perhaps we just need to fix the progress bar to let the user know something is coming.
