Potentially great app but there are several bugs that make it almost unusable... #56

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Enter bracketing
2. Choose whatever number of steps (under and overexposed)
3. Activate bracketing mode by long tap
4. Tap the shutter button

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The output should be to get the bracketed pictures. Instead, the app stops
before shooting all the pictures.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
V0.30.22 on Android 4.2.2 (Kernel version: 3.4.0-1081224). Samsung Galaxy S4
I9505

Please provide any additional information below.
I'm using a Nikon D5200. Besides the bracketing issue (paramount to me) there
are a few more:
-The app changes to manual focus on it's own. No way to change again to any
autofocus mode. The camera has to be unplugged and the app restarted. This
happens every time.
-Program mode (M, A, S, P) and scene mode also unusable: the app and the camera
do not talk and there's no way to change them

Thank you

One more thing: As far as I can tell, the internal image viewer does not show
any image. When I untick that option in preferences, it opens Moon Reader to
see the pics (of course they do not show) instead of the gallery

The exposure mode can only be change when the camera is in 'host mode' (button
in top row 'camera mode/host mode'.
Custom bracketing works here with D7100 and D5000 so it should work with D5200
to (M and A mode) - a logcat would help if it does not perform the BKT capture.
The application needs to change the focus mode to 'MF' before capture because
the camera is always performing AF before capture.
The image gallery also works here for JPG and for NEF files to, not sure what
is your problem with it, maybe if you could describe in more detail what is the
problem.

Hi, thanks very much for your answer. Seems like I made it work following your
instructions plus deactivating Live View. I also tried the app in a Galalxy S2
running Android 4.0.1 and it works under those two conditions (bracketing still
stops randomly before end with live view activated).

Regarding the (external) viewer, could you please help on how could I make the
app open a gallery app instead of Moon Reader?

Thanks very much for your help

What type of files do you intend to open (JPG, NEF)? The Gallery only supports
JPG files. After clicking the image do you get a dialog with the list of
applications that can handle the file? If not that means you default that file
type to 'Moon Reader' and you need to clear that in 'Moon Reader' settings
(Settings->Apps).

Hi,

I have tried to open both JPG and NEF. I have selected external viewer in prefs
(now associated with the phone's gallery app), but it simply opens the internal
viewer and when trying to see an image stored in the camera (not in the phone)
does not load JPG (says it can't find the element) and it can only load one NEF
at a time. If I want to see another NEF I have to go back to the live view
screen and load the viewer again.

Moreover, when I select internal viewer in prefs and load a JPG, it opens the
viewer but no miage, only a black screen with the viewer icons. If I open a NEF
it shows both NEF and JPG... Another thing I have noticed (not really important
to me though) is that the "share" button in the viewer does not work

Another strange thing I have noticed (I will tell you the event sequence):
-I open the app normally, with live view activated.
-I shoot one picture
-Internal viewer, open NEF. I see it normally
-Back to the live view screen
Now comes the weird thing:
-When I chenge the shutter speed it chooses always a different one. For
instance: if I choose 1/25 in the list, the speed that appears ai 1/100. Other
values (chosen by me | displayed):
1/100 | 1/400
1/400 | 1/1600
1/1600 | 1/4000
30" | 8"

And so on...

Thank you

By the way, all this was happening in Camera Mode. Will try now in Host mode

Same results in host mode with live view activated. But if right after I
deactivate live view, shutter speed works fine

I now noticed same thing with D7100, the camera was always setting a shutter
speed by one up (regardless if I was in LV or reviewing an image). I tested
with D5000 and there it was working. I recently update the D7100 firmware and
lens firmware so could be that this was causing this. After I set the
ExposureEvStep on right side from 1/3 to 1/2 and back to 1/3 it is working
again as it should with D7100 to.
