- Trcking Changes: The third 'Edit, add, commit' bit where we demo the mistake could be re-done. Some people will generate the mistake themselves, and we can emphasise it.
- Exploring History: After demoing
git diff HEAD~1, mention how you can use an ID, say just the first 7 characters, ask people to get a summary of all the changes they made.
We also need bits for:
- Remote Repositories: ???
- Branching: ??
However, we're at ~2h time as it stands, and there's nothing we can tweak into a bit they do themselves in those. If we lost the SSH key faff we would have time to add extra content, so we really need to prioritise fixing this.
Currently, there's a lot of "I do this, now you copy it" in the notes. The problems aren't asking them to do anything new, so lots of people skip them. We should make sure there's a few more exercises, and the ones we have should be made a bit more interesting and involved.
