Coordinate System Error #184

Closed haktank5 closed 3 years ago

Space Syntax analysis for any city in Turkey trying to do. However, the files I downloaded from OpenStreetMap do not appear in the Graph Analysis Layer section. When I change the coordinate system, the drawing is placed in a different location. I tried changing it by clicking Save As but that also failed. What should be the coordinate system for Turkey should I use? When the coordinate system is not correct, for example CHr: 500 and 5000 results are the same. So this is important to me. I'm waiting for your help. Thank you.

"When I change the coordinate system, the drawing is placed in a different location." This basically means that you are not using the correct coordinate reference system and therefore your map is displaced.

You can probably use one of these projected CRS https://epsg.io/?q=turkey%20kind:PROJCRS&page=1 but you need to make sure that you select the one that covers your area, as Turkey is such a big country and can have different CRS for different areas of the country. To find the appropriate one just click on every CRS and see what is the coverage in the map window on the right hand side. It is always recommended that you choose a CRS that is used by official administrative mapping services - just check what CRS official GIS data have.

To re-project the map you should right-click on the layer, select Save as and specify the new CRS.

This is not an error of the Toolkit and therefore the issue is closed.
