The male/female connector symbols in kicad have separated pins that can be moved around.
Not leaving them in order next to each other makes it really hard (and annoying) to find all the pins of one connector.
Please use either a connector symbol which is one solid piece or leave the pin groups together.
Use local labels ("Place net labels". Not global labels!) to get from the connector to other places. This allows to easily find a connector pin and highlight the net using the highlight tool.
