VM stops halfway through booting after install #79

My instance installs according to plan.

I am able to reboot into recovery, install Big Sur, go to the install partition again, and finish. Boot again and I can see the disk I created called BigSur and boot to it. It is there where the progress stops at what appears to be 50%.

I have tried 2 cores, 4 cores, and 8 cores. All the same outcome. Any idea what I am missing?

Edit - this was fixed by editing the XML and setting topology to "no" and using all of my cores
