the first thing you need to do is format the newly created macos disk (default 100gb size). It is locked by default. After that you can install macos.
My issue is the macos disk isn't showing up in the disk utility.
My issue is the macos disk isn't showing up in the disk utility.
can you share a screenshot?
Here is a screenshot showing the domains folder with the macos_disk.img and the disk utility which only shows one drive. I've also included the VM log. Thank you! Ventura VM log.txt
@jlmbkd did you already have macinabox installed before last update? I remember there was mentioned that you need to remove it completely from unraid before installing the new version. perhaps that helps? Disk utility should look like this the first time you boot a just created macos vm:
Yes, but I followed the directions to remove it. I did that several times since as well.
please post your vm xml file here

Not saying any of the following differences my cause your issues but I used all default settings, nothing changed, not even additional ram nor cpus and it runs smoothly without issues. Differences in xml I noticed so far: Different loc nvram (mine: /var/lib/libvirt/. yours /etc/libvirt/.) I have no index at source files of the disks I have no aliases anywhere, you seem to have them for everything :S. My network controller uses br0 and has no “target dev” line. I have no source path for my serial type='pty' My console type='pty' has no source path. And perhaps most importantly, after the seclabel block I have another block which seems to be missing for (all of) you (hwo posted the xml here):

The location where your disks are set to be is
/mnt/user/VMDisksHDD so you should have a share on the server called VMDisksHDD the /mnt/user relates to the unified Unraid share sysem Are you sure you are not trying to put the vdisk on a physical disk that is not a share? Please look in that share and see if you can see the the Sonoma folder
Please run these commands and post the output
ls /mnt/user/VMDisksHDD
ls /mnt
ls /mnt/VMDisksHDD
Many thanks
@RezzZ the “target dev” etc extra lines that you can see are there because the xml was dumped when the vm was running as opposed to being stopped.

Thanks for your reply. I have a share VMDisksHDD that I've created and use with my other VM's that have a virtual disk I want to have on one of my HDD's. The share is created from unraid and is set up to be on HDD pool (called Non_parity_hdd), not the array.
I see Sonoma folder on the share and the disk images in the folder
I have also tried with the default domains share with no luck.
Below the ls command results but I'm pretty positive everything here is as should.
root@NAS:~# ls /mnt/user/VMDisksHDD
Sonoma/ Windows11/
root@NAS:~# ls /mnt
addons/ cache/ disk1/ disk2/ disks/ non_parity_hdd/ remotes/ rootshare/ user/ user0/
root@NAS:~# ls /mnt/VMDisksHDD
/bin/ls: cannot access '/mnt/VMDisksHDD': No such file or directory
please post your vm xml file here
Good morning @SpaceinvaderOne! Do you see any issues with the XML or have you seen this issue before? It appears @Clav60's XML is same with the exception of qcow vdisk type vs raw. I also tried qcow with no luck. Any suggestions on what to try next would be greatly appreciated.
I am stuck at the disk utility screen where I only see one about 3Gb drive. I am on UnRaid 6.12.13, and I've tried deleting the VM and re-running Macinabox several times. I have also deleted the docker plus template and ensured everything was deleted from the AppData folder. When I did that, I could see the 100G mac-disk.img file in the domains folder, but I still can only see one 3.22Gb drive in the disk utility that only has 917Mb free.
