Every time a player dies, his respawn time gets 1 sec added to the clock for a max of 2 min.
What if we made it so that a player has a respawn timer of 90 seconds. For every second they are alive, this timer reduces by a second, limiting out at 10 seconds. This means that a player is limited to one respawn every 90 seconds, but if they aren't in a situation not involving rapid death, they get to respawn right away (which makes the game more fun).
I like it, except let's mix both ideas. The min time a player shall ever
have to spawn shall be no less than 20 sec. With every death, 2 sec gets
added to the timer and every minute they stay alive gets 1 sec removed from
the timer until they hit 20 sec respawn. How's that sound?
