my xPro-V5 seems to have some issues with the Y driver.
The problem
Y-axis does not run smoothly, in particular at slow velocities the stepper start to skip passes while the A/Y2 axis runs correctly; the Y skipping increases as the velocity decreases. At low velocity, the X-gantry runs very badly due to the pass skipping of the Y-axis with respect to the A/Y2 one.
Tests done
swapped the Y-A/Y2 steppers in order to check if the issue was related to the stepper and not on the driver: the test indicates that whatever is the stepper attached to the Y driver, is that stepper that skips passes, thus I assume that the driver has some issues and not the stepper;
check the current setting: all the drivers are set to provide 1.8A for running and 0.5A for holding, thus I assume that the issues should be related to some hardware damages rather than to wrong software settings;
visually inspect the drivers and they seem ok (no signs of physical damage exteriorly).
Suggestions?
The board is new and I have no idea of what to check now and how to solve the problem. Any suggestions are more than welcome.
