RS485 Undefined - Spindle errors #213

Open johnhaytko opened 1 year ago

Hi, Not sure this is the typical 220V RS485 issue. The communication light under the PWM/RS485 switch is not on or blinking at all. I've tried cycling the switch to no avail. What are the trouble shooting steps?

This is typically a noise issue generated by the VFD:

In cases where VFD noise is particularly severe (typically only encountered with VFD's on 220V mains); you may need to install an RS485 isolator - see https://github.com/Spark-Concepts/xPro-V5/issues/164#issuecomment-1219037733 rs485_Isolated

The TX/RX pins are backwards in the example configuration. I've put in a pull request to flip them.

Hi, I purchased what looks to be this same isolator. FYI to everyone it doesn't come with the power supply. Which ones are backwards? As soon as I get this installed I'll confirm if it's working.

If you're running FluidNC - the RS485 pin descriptions are backwards in the example config.yaml file. If you're running the previous firmware then it will be something else.

I finally got the RS485 isolator installed. Issue is resolved. I believe the integrators and resellers of these systems need to just ship this $15.00 part with the product. The amount of time and aggravation with this issue is ludicris.
