After taking a closer look, this data seems to be transformed and not counts. The authors report that they did "normalized counts to log(1 + CPM)", but I have not been able to succesfuly reverse this. Not sure if we want to bother with this @Jieran-S @niklasmueboe

Thanks for the PR! This might be tricky as you mentioned in the slack channel. We can discuss it in the next meeting. I'm leaning towards aborting this dataset in this case. Barseq is already outdated and brain-related tissue is not really the focus either.
