Recomended app/cache cleaning tools with Mounts2SD #37

I am loving Mounts2SD, after struggling with link2sd over 3 reinstalls i found this app and it works better than i hoped

i am using HTC Desire-Bravo, managed to get Liquid smooth on android 4.4.4 which is running great.

my usage of ur app is Cache enabled, all content options ticked, the 4gb SD is seperated into fat32 SD and 1.48gb ext4 partition.

i have been using SD maid, CM cleanmaster and ES task manager to clean cache and junk data out of the phone, but the last time the extended partition was broken (link2sd) was due to a cleaner program running and it entirely broke everything, needed to wipe and restart. im certiain it was CM cleanmaster that did it.

My question is which of these cleaning programs would you think safe to use in the phone without breaking Mounts2SD or the partition.

im scared to run any of them now :S , this old phone is as good as new and i want it to stay running smooth.

Thankyou for any advice you can give :D

I have been using SD Maid for years without any issues. I have never had use for anything else. It does a really good job, and it have never broken anything. I don't know the others, but it seams like overkill to use 3 apps for this job. On Jan 20, 2015 5:11 AM, "tekkieb" notifications@github.com wrote:

Thanks dk-zero-cool

Im prety new to all this tweaking so ive been trying out various programs to see what does the job best, SD maid is good, but i use the ES task manager mainly to kill background tasks but it also has a cache cleaner function to it, CM Cleaner isnt too bad really, it offers to remove autostart progs, but i dont think it does anything i cant get out of ES or SD maid.

The only issue really is what programs might damage mounts2sd, and i think ill just leave CM cleaner alone.

I havent seen anything go wrong in mounts2sd yet, ive added more than twice the volume of apps i managed out of link2sd.

Thanks for the advice

You should not be killing programs, it will gain nothing. Quite opposite, you will end up using more power that way. Android has excellent management for apps, background tasks and memory, and it is best optimized to let it handle these things. Only kill an app or background process if it breaks without closing it self. You should also note that apps does not always run just because it indicates that it does. For example if you open an app and then turn off the screen, the app goes into pause mode and resumes when the screen turns back on.

Ive been watching how programs behave, for alot of them killing them only makes them relaunch so ur right that is counterproductive, I filled the ignore list with alot of things now (android/google/system) ill let android manage. This phone is for my girlfriend, she will no doubt install alot of games and junk lol, so im hoping it will work well to keep these nonsense programs being too active.

there are still a few progs that run with no need, torch seems to always be running all the time, if i kill it it stays off. iplayer, maps, and a couple other things launch themselves at odd times too, i figured having them autokilled was a good idea, obviously when theyre needed they dont get killed, the autokill happens when u tap the desktop widget.
