the link takes to me the general github but not the latest release, so for users it is unclear where to go for the release

Team's Response

On the GitHub page there is a clearly visible "Releases" tab with "Latest" highlighted in bright green next to the latest release for additional clarity. Bringing them to the GitHub page also allows them to potentially explore the project before downloading it.
